Runamuck Ranch is home to rare Herdwick Sheep which are relatively unknown in the US, but are a landscape
icon of the Lake District of England.
They are high fells sheep and are found scattered throughout the windy and wet heather of Cumbria. Hardy with a weather resistant
fleece, and good foraging practices, they are ideal for the Northwest climate of the US. They thrive on natural pastures and need
little supplemental feeding. They lamb easily and have an easy going nature.
Our sheep are pasture raised and take up to two years to mature. Unlike commercial sheep, they grow more slowly but the
meat is more flavorful. Rumor has it that the Queen of England's favorite lamb is Herdwick.
